Terms and Conditions
CONDITIONS OF BOARDING
When the booking is confirmed we will ask you to sign the booking form to accept our conditions of boarding. The following conditions form a contractual agreement between the animal owner and Delmon Boarding Kennels Co. W.L.L. (DBKC):
Own Risk: Although all reasonable care will be taken animals are boarded entirely at the owner’s own risk.
Delivery and Collection Times: Admission and collection is only permitted during our published opening hours.
Cancellation and Advance Payments: All bookings are taken in good faith. Owners undertake to pay the boarding
fee (or the balance thereof) in full on or before the agreed admission date for the period booked (unless notice of cancellation is given to DBKC at least two weeks prior to the booked date of entry). Where deposits or advance payments are required they are non-refundable.
Early Collection and Refunds: Refunds are not given for early collection before the collection date stated on the booking form.
Daily Charging: Charges are applied on a daily rate (a day being a 24 hour period or part thereof) from the day of entry up to and including the day of departure, with no exceptions.
Payment Concerns: All known fees (boarding, flea/tick protection) must be paid in full upon arrival. All unknown, unanticipated fees (vet bills or extended stays) must be paid in full upon departure. *We require that you show us a valid credit card when you bring in your pet for boarding, regardless of the actual method of payment you choose, and to indicate your authorisation for DBKC to take payment from your credit card in your absence on the first of each month in the event your pet remains boarding with us for a period of time that extends beyond the original paid booking dates. We do this without obligation to inform you, though we will always try to do so.
Methods of Payment: Payments may be made by credit card or by cash.
Veterinary Treatment Authorisation: Owners authorise DBKC to arrange veterinary treatment at the owners’ expense should DBKC, in its absolute discretion, consider it necessary during the period of boarding.
Veterinary History: Owners undertake to have declared any history of veterinary problems, which the animal may have suffered, and to have drawn DBKC’s attention to any traits or vices their animals may have.
Provision of Veterinary Treatment: All veterinary treatment will be provided by DBKC’s appointed veterinary surgeons unless other specific arrangements are made and additional costs agreed.
Medication Administration: If medicine is required to be administered this will be undertaken provided the animal will accept the medication without resistance and that the medication can be given by a person who does not have veterinary qualifications. Ultimately the owners will be responsible for any veterinary fees incurred.
Sick Animals: DBKC are not qualified to care for sick animals. If any animal becomes ill whilst being boarded it will be admitted to a veterinary centre and the owner’s of such animal will be responsible for any veterinary fees incurred, including those for the disposal of the animal should the vet so advise.
Vaccination: Owners must undertake to maintain their animals’ annual vaccination and certification in date and must bring the certificates for checking at the time of admission. DBKC will retain a copy.
Special Care Charges: Additional charges may be raised where above normal care is found to be required. This situation can occur particularly with elderly or arthritic animals.
Grooming: This is not included within the boarding fee.
Owner’s Property: No responsibility is taken for owners’ property or animals’ toys left on the premises. Wicker baskets and beanbags (if provided by the owner) will not be used.
Toys: If toys are brought in to accompany a pet during its stay, owners must take responsibility for any veterinary treatment required should the animal consume the toys or become injured thereby.
Disposal: Owners authorise the disposal of the animals in the best way reasonably possible should they fail to collect their animals within 72 hours of the end of the agreed boarding period or fail to contact DBKC in order to negotiate a possible extension of the booking period.
Flea & Tick Protection: All dogs & cats must receive a dose of Frontline upon arrival at DBKC’s premises for any boarding exceeding 12 hours. We appreciate that many customers apply this and similar products before arrival, but we nevertheless require an application in our presence. You can buy a dose of Frontline from us or you are welcome to use your own dose purchased elsewhere, but we must see it being applied by you or gain permission from you to apply it ourselves on the day that your pet arrives to stay with us. We suggest you consider the timing of Frontline (or similar) application when you know you have a booking with us, so that you are not unnecessarily often giving your pet doses of flea & tick protection. Please note that there is no health risk associated with multiple doses of frontline within a month, even though only one dose a month (or less often) is required to protect your pet.
